Celebrating Good Men! A Big Thank You to Contributors So Far!

Hi fellow bloggers/readers,

My book is halfway to completion and in the next eight weeks will be ready to submit my non-fiction proposal to agents.

However, I still need your assistance. Firstly though, I’d like to thank those of you who have sent in your stories/experiences with “Mr Wrong” or experiences highlighting journeys in not so positive relationships. Some have made me literally laugh out loud. For example I received a story about a man who emailed his date (after the first date) asking her to pay her share of the bill after she refused to kiss him and other stories about men who vanish quicker than a magicians handkerchief after promising “his lady” the world in all its finery. On the other side of the coin I have received stories that have moved me to tears and seriously made me question humanity and the human mind. It’s been deep and I thank you all.

What has resonated so deeply with me is the strength of character and wisdom these women have gained and shared through their experiences. Women- we really are made of strong stuff! Our only (tongue in cheek) flaw- we do not often realise just how precious we are. We often do not believe that we deserve better. But it’s never too late and by sharing our stories with each other we could inspire, unite and empower each other.

I do still need assistance with writing this book and while I am still looking for stories/experiences with “Mr Wrong,” I would love and I mean love to receive some inspirational relationship stories. Stories that celebrate and appreciate men who are pulling their weight in a relationship. There are men out there who are providing and nurturing supportive, happy, secure and loving relationships. I want to hear stories about men who are not afraid of commitment and follow through on their promises and make every effort to maintain supportive and loving relationships based on trust, honesty, respect and of course compromise.

I know these men exist and whilst Mr Wrong focusses on the lessons we can learn from unhealthy relationships with a man who is not right for us, the book is all about equality and celebrating the positive and inspiring women to believe that happiness, joy, supportive and fulfilling relationships do truly exist and that with hard work, mutual respect, love, support, honesty, trust, understanding, kindness and determination love will prevail.

Share you secrets, share your stories, share the Love!

2) I have a very healthy appetite and love eating good food.

3) I strongly believe in past lives and believe I have had many.

4) I am currently addicted to Magnun Almond and White Magnun ice creams (Twister was my latest fad.)

5) I love working with young people and my students often tell me I should have been a comedian and not a teacher. (Errr…

6) As a child I was called onstage during a pantomine and ended up getting a custard pie in my face 9Not happy!)

7) My father is Jewish and his father came to England as a refugee (my Great Uncle survived Auschwitz) and my mother came to England from Jamaica during the Windrush era.

8) (for luck) I had to go to college three times before I passed my A Levels. (First time- dropped out. 2nd time- chucked out. 3rd time lucky!)

I’m very proud of my roots and very proud of my journey. Overcoming obstacles= Success!

I am so grateful and appreciative of those who have supported and inspired me so far. x

Real Love Is. .

Real Love is…

real love is about respect,

not about keeping the other in check

love is inspiring the other to keep aspiring

keep evolving

together solving

real love doesn’t exist in time, nor is it intricate

it’s infinite

Simple and intimate

real love is about acceptance,

acceptance of all that was, is and will be,

love isn’t wrapped up and frilly

real love ain’t got much time for ribbons and bows,

fancy lines and prose

It ain’t about material shows

love cannot decrease it only grows

real love is unconditional

regardless

facadeless

Real love doesn’t come with terms and conditions

With booby traps and secret missions

Love works best when each other listens

love needs space to move and flourish

love needs love for it to nourish

love isn’t fearful or insecure

love isn’t addictive-needing more and more

real love is unconditional, everlasting and true

love is for all, not for the few

real love is seeing my hair in the morning and not running a mile

at the worst of his jokes still raising a smile

encouraging them in the right direction

-even if it means seeing less of them

real love doesn’t judge, nor can it be measured

real love is permanent and should forever be treasured

love is respecting each others individuality

real love isn’t binding, love sets you free

real love doesn’t diminish when they aren’t ‘who you want them to be’

-‘programmed’ them to be

real love is the Power of honesty

real love has no expectations, only the Truth we see

Truth of the other in all their shining Glory

The Good, the Bad, the Ugly

…..

Love is to Truth as Simple is to Be.
